Collection of General Information When Visiting Our Website

Type and Purpose of Processing

When you access our website, i.e., if you do not register or otherwise submit information, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address, and the like. They are processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring a hassle-free connection of the website,
  • Ensuring smooth use of our website,
  • Evaluation of system security and stability, and
  • for optimizing our website. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about you personally. Information of this kind may be statistically evaluated by us to optimize our website and the underlying technology.

Legal Basis and Legitimate Interest

The processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

Recipients

Recipients of the data may be technical service providers acting as processors for the operation and maintenance of our website.

Duration of Storage

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose of collection. For the data used to provide the website, this generally applies when the respective session has ended. If data is stored in log files, it is deleted after no more than fourteen days. Further storage is possible. In this case, the IP addresses of the users are anonymized, so that an assignment of the calling client is no longer possible.

Provision Prescribed or Required

The provision of the aforementioned personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, without the IP address, the service and functionality of our website are not guaranteed. Additionally, individual services and services may be unavailable or limited. For this reason, an objection is excluded.

Use of Script Libraries (Google WebFonts)

In order to display our content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers, we use “Google Web Fonts” from Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”) on this website to display fonts. Further information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Newsletter

Newsletter Data

If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you, as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the provided email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or is collected only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties. The processing of the data entered into the newsletter subscription form takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address, and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example, through the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The legality of the already completed data processing operations remains unaffected by the revocation. The data you have stored with us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or after the purpose has ceased to apply. We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Data stored for other purposes with us remain unaffected. After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist, if such action is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR). The storage in the blacklist is indefinite. You may object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

Your Right to Object According to Art. 21 GDPR Right to Object on a Case-by-Case Basis You have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you, which is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR (data processing on the basis of a balance of interests), for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on this provision within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 4 GDPR.
